Ken Coughlin, Car-Free Park Activist
Ken Coughlin is a leading New York City activist promoting car-free parks. He became an active volunteer with the non-profit group,Transportation Alternatives, in 1991 to advocate prohibiting cars in Central Park. His dedication to livable streets and his devotion to decreasing the negative impacts of cars in the city have only grown since then. As coordinator of the Car-Free Central Park campaign, Ken has personally gathered over 100,000 signatures on petitions asking the city to ban cars from the park. He also contributes to StreetsBlog.
