Livable Streets Neighborhood Blueprints

One of our Campaigns signature projects for the year are the community Charrettes, design workshops led by urban planning professionals. Scheduled to take place in April, these charrettes will give you an opportunity to transfer your ideas into viable Livable Streets blueprints--shining examples of what your streets can and should be.

These blueprints will then be a valuable resource that you can present to your elected officials, community stake holders, and city agencies as evidence of the benefits of redesigned streets and the widespread public support for such reforms.   Other communities around the city have pursued this same strategy, and won safer, greener, and more livable streets for their community.  For one recent example, have a look at the work of a group of committed Hell’s Kitchen neighbors at the 9th Avenue Renaissance website, http://www.9thavenuerenaissance.com.
