Just a quick update...and, please don't reply to this email (if you need to respond, please email lisa@...). There seems to be momentum on the protected bike lane issue. Not only have a number of Upper West Side schools and community groups asked for them, but our very own Gale Brewer asked for them. In a letter sent to Janette Sadik-Khan in late March, Councilmember Brewer stated that (a protected bike lane) "is an improvement whose time has come, and will contribute to the safety and health of all of our residents." Way to go, Gale! We couldn't agree more.
