  • Full Speed Ahead on West 106th Street!

from Nathan John on 2008-05-28 15:18
On Tuesday, June 3rd Community Board 7 will be holding a full board meeting to consider the DOT’s proposal to implement buffered bike lanes on both sides of West 106th Street between Riverside Drive and Central Park West. As you all know, while not a perfect plan, this cross-town connection will still provide a long-overdue addition to the Upper West Side bike network. It is also a crucial step towards the safe and integrated system of bikeways that UWS cyclists both need and deserve.

Though there has been a great response from the community so far, a positive vote from the board is far from certain. Please come out on Tuesday night and voice your support for this project. It is extremely important that we show the members of CB7 that the 106th St. bike lane has a lot of backing from within the community, so bring a friend!
