The Great Brooklyn-By-Bike Scavenger Hunt
Sunday, May 31
12-5pm, meet at Grand Army Plaza Entrance of Prospect Park
Discover Brooklyn on bike! Teams of up to 4 will search for objects and places from a list of clues. From 12 to 3pm you'll hunt, then from 3-5pm you'll kick back at Habana Outpost as we tally the points and distribute the prizes. Bring a map, a digital camera, and a love for Brooklyn. Prizes will include Brooklyn bike shop gift certificates, two pairs of Coney Island Cyclones game tickets, various items from the Transportation Alternatives gift shop, and more. Costumes and team names are encouraged (extra points will be awarded for costumes)! Register by emailing team name and number of participants to bikebrooklynjune@gmail.com
Bike *from* Work Day #1
Monday, June 1
5:30-7pm, Manhattan Bridge bicycle lane
Enjoy an after-work snack and celebrate biking from work with the T.A. Brooklyn Committee on the Manhattan Bridge. Learn about our projects and how you can get involved. We'll be on the Manhattan side of the entrance, by the grassy area just off Canal Street.
The 5th Annual Tour de Brooklyn
Sunday, June 7
Registration is full, but there'll be some spots open day of for this leisurely 23 mile ride, starting at Coney Island, rolling into Sunset Park with an exclusive bicycle tour Green-wood Cemetery, rest stop at Prospect Park, then rolling through neighborhoods such as Ditmas Park, Bensonhurst, and more before lopping back to Coney Island. Bike Valet Parking at Celebrate Brooklyn!
Concerts June 8 through August 15
3rd Street entrance to Prospect Park
Bike to the park and enjoy summer concerts without worrying about secure parking. Volunteers from the T.A. Brooklyn Committee will provide bike valet parking for the entirety of Celebrate Brooklyn!, a summer-long performance festival at the Prospect Park bandshell. Complete concert schedule here.

Sustainable Flatbush presents an evening of Streetfilms at Vox Pop!
Wednesday, June 10
8-11pm, 1022 Cortelyou Road, Q train to Cortelyou
Sustainable Flatbush invites you to visualize a future of Livable Streets! Streetfilms are short videos that show living examples of streets and public spaces designed for people, where walking, biking, public transit, and fostering community are the priorities. Locations range from Copenhagen, Paris, Curitiba and Bogota to our own New York City. Discussion and party to follow!
Hosted by Vox Pop, cafe/bookstore/community space on Cortelyou Road in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
Drivetrain Workshop at Velo Brooklyn Bushwick Bike Shop
Saturday, June 13
2-4pm, 1342 A Dekalb Avenue, M train to Central, L to Dekalb
Learn the ins and outs of your bike's drivetrain, the components that create the power, from the pedals to derailleurs and everything in between. Experienced bike mechanic KT will lead this workshop covering mechanics, maintenance, and repair for both multi-speeds (gears, shifters, cables) and single-speeds (chainlines, cranks, cogs). Come learn in a fun, relaxed environment, where the emphasis is on making you and your bike happy.
Brooklyn Waterfront Epic Ride
Saturday, June 20 postponed due to weather; check back for new date
start: 11 am, Ash Street & Manhattan Ave, Greenpoint (in front of the Greenpoint Manufacturing Design Center)
finish: about 3 pm, Rockaway Taco, 96th Street and Rockaway Beach Blvd, Queens (A train at Beach 98th Street)
Join the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative and T.A. Brooklyn Committee for a moderately-paced 40+ mile ride along the future Brooklyn Greenway & Queens coastline. Not intended for novice riders, but truly rewarding views for those ready to ride all afternoon. Includes restroom/water stops (at Owls Head Park and Canarsie Pier) and updates about the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. We'll finish with enlightened Mexican street food, including fish and tofu tacos, at Rockaway Taco and you’ll have the option of either riding back with us or taking the A train. Transportation Alternatives Brooklyn Membership Party!

Our month long efforts will end in an all out Park Slope party celebrating all of TA's efforts and Brooklyn members. Come early, stay late, and join us for drink specials, tasty snacks, raffles with awesome giveaways, and livable streets camaraderie! We will have a discount for membership so if you haven't joined T.A. yet then this will be a great chance to do so.
Coney Island Ride & Cyclones Game
Sunday, June 28
Ride departing at 3 from the Grand Army Plaza entrance of Prospect Park; game begins at 5
T.A. Brooklyn Committee's monthly ride. After a leisurely group ride to Coney Island, we'll watch the Brooklyn Cyclones play the Hudson Valley Renegades. Group tickets are $11 each. Group tickets are sold out but you can still get a discounted rate here (enter the promotional code 'bike') and join the ride. Email bikebrooklynjune@gmail.com if you want to ride with us.
