Ride to Jacob Riis Park in Rockaway
On Sunday, October 26, 2008, we met at 10:30 AM at the top of Prospect Park, near Grand Army Plaza, and rode the Eastern Parkway Greenway, the Bedford Avenue bike lane, and all the way south over the Marine Parkway Bridge (aka the Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge) to Jacob Riis Park in Rockaway. Along the way we did a loop through Floyd Bennet Field. We saw Brooklyn’s coastline from a different perspective.
This was slightly longer than our previous rides but the weather and the company were amazing! We bought food at the 101 Deli at our destination and ate on the boardwalk. The deli is reviewed as “the best” on Yahoo, and of course the food tasted great after our ride. Then we rode back to Grand Army Plaza.
The photos below (taken by Sholom Brody) will convince you to come to our future rides!
