New Feature Requests and Bug Reports
In the Pipeline?
- Citations/image-captioning tool : where does this stand?
- Last name first listing for people names on A-Z article list: this was in
- "Wikipedia-style linking" to article titles: where does this stand?
- Categories/tagging? Not sure if this has ever been in progress or if we could somehow use what sblog or sfilms already has? But our categories are pretty sad at the moment . . .
New Feature Requests
(In order of necessesity)
- Small, editorial content box on front-page, coming from blog on this group
- Adding CC licensing: probably some message should appear when in edit mode and at bottom of articles?
- Image uploader fix: When in the browse phase, you now see only images that have been uploaded to that specific article. BUT as soon as you go into the upload phase you see all images that have ever been uploaded to swiki, in no particular order! This is rapidly becoming very unmanageable. If its possible to have new photos just show up at the top of the image uploader box that would be best as it is sometimes useful to have the other ones right there. If not, then I think it would be best to have to same limited view in the upload mode.
- Making articles editable to non-LSN members--is this possible or are there strong reasons we didn't initially allow? Mark is very big on this idea.
- Bigger/bolder article title heading, or less bold headings within article (this would be my preference. The in-article headings just still stand out more than the overall one.
- Some minor textual changes in the template and "tips" that show up in edit-mode sidebar
- Internal/external link differentiation
In Progress?
Bug Reports
- Still some problems with Line Spacing, as in the Placemaking , Curb Extensions, and Chinatown articles. I don't know if text for these specific articles was pasted in or not, but we know that this has happened in cases where no text was pasted in. I have found that the spacing problem may be related to inserting and deleting images (-DianaD). Spacing was fine until I added images to Bicycle Boulevards. I tried without success to correct it. Can sometimes resolve it by hitting 'delete' key in blank spaces on page or by deleting code in html mode.
- Inserting paragraph spacing behaves weirdly sometimes
- Font issues when using a PC or Windows, and copying text from a Word Document into an article. With a Mac, Streetswiki defaults to the uniform "normal" font of the article. With a PC (both Firefox and Internet Explorer), all fonts and text changes get transferred directly into the article on Streetswiki.
