Safe Streets started as a local, grassroots movement to get a traffic light adjusted in front of Co-op City's baseball fields. It since has developed into an advocacy group for walking, biking, and transit issues. We are very active in Transportation Alternatives Bronx Committee. We also are partnering with other organizations to promote healthy, outdoor activities. In this effort, we have started a cycling club, a lacrosse summer clinic, and are members of the North Bronx Sports Federation.
