It looks like I'm not the only one interested in streetcars in NYC
after all. Now that the group has a few members, why don't we all
introduce ourselves, and explain a bit our interest in and experience
    with streetcars?
I'm Arcady, I've lived in NYC since 1999, in Manhattan. I've worked
for the now defunct Brooklyn Historic Railway Association, which
attempted to build a heritage trolley line in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and
came very close to actually doing so, with one block of street track
nearly completed before work stopped completely for reasons I'm not
entirely sure of, as I'd stopped working there. This effort failed,
but I think that it could have succeeded, and it might be worth it to
    try again.

    Hi,

I'm Todd, I lived mostly in Manhattan from 1996-1999. I worked on
communications for the 1997 NYC Sierra Club Film Festival and was quite
involved in community garden defense in 1997 and 1998. My dogs are from
the East Village, and I live in Prague now. My other NYC Streets project
    is "Dogs on Board!".

As I told Arcady (or all of the administrators, so forgive me if the
following is redundant....)... Well, actually, Arcady, could you post
    what I wrote as introduction?

Then I will add more later. I am actually working on a proposal right
    now for this:
    <http://www.skoda.cz/en/skoda-holding/news/introducing-a-new-type-of-tram-the-100-low-floor-vehicle-skoda-forcity-aid2454.html>
    to have a multi-function space.

Prague Public Transport is a partner in my project
    <http://greenideafactory.blogspot.com/2008/03/bikes-on-board-14.html>.
More on that if you want more, otherwise I will just talk about NYC...
    promise.
