Grand Street
Grand Street runs east-west across Manhattan, between SoHo and the Lower East Side. It currently has no transit service running the length of the corridor, aside from the M14A bus between Essex and the FDR, but in former times it was served by a streetcar line, which was later replaced with a bus. It is not, for the most part, a terribly congested street, though there are a few spots with chronic congestion. For these reasons, it's a good candidate for a streetcar line.
