I haven't seen any mention of whether I95 from the Bronx into Manhattan will remain a toll-free route into Manhattan, or if the exits into Manhattan will be tolled. If it remains toll-free, that could result in additional traffic diversions to the route with all consequences that would entail. | JEREMY R. GINSBURG | e-mail: jginsbu@... | "Time goes, you say? No toll booths. All tolls would be collected electronically through either E-Z Pass or license plate readers. Indeed. Although that doesn't address whether the I95 crossing/exits will be tolled. I'm really surprised I haven't seen this discussed in any of the coverage I've read thusfar. All tolls are never collected electronically. You always have some people who are traveling through from a distance or who don't have credit cards. There's a nice healthy discussion here, but I don't see an action mechanism. Is CB12 going to propose an alternative vision for northern manhattan tolling? I'd hate for this to be an academic discussion. At 07:12 PM 12/4/2008, you wrote: No toll booths. All tolls would be collected electronically through either E-Z Pass or license plate readers. But, according the the Ravitch plan, there will be no toll booths. Such methods have been used elsewhere with success. | JEREMY R. GINSBURG | e-mail: jginsbu@... | "Time goes, you say? Ah no!
