The Livable Streets Network is produced by The Open Planning Project, and is built using free, open source software whenever possible. TOPP draws inspiration from the ideas, processes, and success of the open source software movement.  To that end, our tools enhance government transparency and provide opportunity for citizen participation in shaping society.


Streetswiki, Livable Streets Groups, and member profiles are powered by Opencore, a community platform built on top of Plone (Opencore also powers OpenPlans.org). The software is heavily influenced by the zope component architecture, and emerging zope3 best practices. These sites also use the following tools:

 

Streetsblog and Streetfilms are built on top of the WordPress blogging platform, and use a variety of WordPress plugins:
