- About
- I was born in the UK, grew up in northern British Columbia, worked in Botswana, and now live in Auckland. My training was as an accountant, and now I do business strategy consulting to keep food on the table while pursuing my flexible carpooling mission.
- Interests
- The Auckland newspaper calls me a 'carpooling activist'. My passion is finding a way to make the casual carpooling/sluglines from San Francisco and Washington DC ubiquitous as a mechanism for people's commuting needs. I call it flexible carpooling: carpooling that doesn't need any pre-arrangement. In my view the most sustainable form of transport is the carpool with three or four people in it. To be as energy efficient a bus needs to have 30% or 40$ average occupancy (respectively) every minute of its day. My goal is to make it much easier and rewarding for people to share rides.
