Ive been happily carfree since 1996 and will never live or visit places that require a car to get around. After an eye-opening two years of being a slave to the car in Los Angeles during college, I moved to Montreal then Boston and now Arlington VA (DC). I love Portland, OR as well and recently discovered a perfect car-free vacation destination of Zona Romantica in Puerto Vallarta. Of course Europe is a car-free paradise but the exchange rate is making it hard for me to enjoy as often.
