Accumulating supporters of a changed streetscape for SoHo and Greenwich Village: one that puts people first and welcomes them into the surroundings of old, historic neighborhoods - and minimizes all the negative attributes of auto-saturation.

[From the PARK(ing) Day Group:]
With respect to PARK(ing) Day, I had the idea that by getting permits for some of the sites and doing some organizing, this could be an event that attracts major media attention this year. To that extent, I'll be working with TA to coordinate the permitting process, outreach to elected officials and city agencies, and trying to get donations to build up the magnitude of the event. At the same time, I think that the real magic of the event is at the local, grassroots (literally) level. Each spot should be reflective of its surroundings and the ideas of the people who are organizing it. Neighborhood media should be directed to the flavor of the specific communities involved.
