- The west intersection of Amsterdam and 73rd is a catastrophe in the making. Drivers heading north on Amsterdam know that if they take the left hand turn fast enough through the pedestrian walk sign, they'll make the right hand turn arrow to continue up Broadway. The problem is compounded by the fact that since the cars and trucks are swinging in from the second lane over, their vision is often blocked by standing buses in the bus lane.
- Interests
- I would like to see the traffic light patterns altered so that drivers have no chance of making both lights. It's a heavily trafficked area leading directly onto a major subway station plaza, and pedestrian safety, not the convenience of drivers, should be of paramount importance.
